A Season of Learning
Landscape Warehouse recently hosted State CLCA’s “How to Make Money in Landscaping” seminar at our North Hollywood store. The day-long seminar was filled with ideas, strategies and information that, when applied, will help attendees increase their bottom line in each of their businesses. We at Landscape Warehouse understand the value of these seminars. This is why we have developed our own educational program which we update each year.
I bring this up, because with the change of seasons, we are entering what can be called, “A Season of Learning.” Let me explain. With the arrival of fall, landscapers are looking at their same full schedule of work as earlier in the year, but less and less daylight hours to do it in. This probably affects your business as well. But don’t despair, you can use those late afternoon and evening hours to GROW YOUR BUSINESS through education.
You do this by attending seminars in various aspects of the landscape industry which we host on a regular basis. Especially important is learning about areas in the business you don’t really push because you believe you are not as skilled or experienced in that part of the business. But now you can be.
This year, Landscape Warehouse seminars are meant to help you GROW YOUR BUSINESS. The next subject in the series is Outdoor Lighting. Presented by the lighting experts at FX Luminaire, these seminars are set for Tuesday, November 12 at our Pasadena Nursery, and Wednesday, November 13 at our North Hollywood store. The classes start at 6 p.m. See ad below for details.
How can these classes and others help you grow your business? Well, with improved skills in outdoor lighting for instance, you can sell lighting along with your irrigation installations, using some of those same trenches for the wiring of the lights. This will save you time and money, open an additional stream of income, and help you profit from a part of your business that you are presently losing to a “more knowledgeable” landscape company.
Additionally, while some others are looking toward Christmas tree sales or Holiday light installation for extra income at this time of year, you will have increased a core aspect of your landscape business that will bring you additional income all year ’round.
