Important Events Ahead

Hello Channel Island chapter members! I want to start by thanking everyone that was able to attend our 9th Annual Channel Islands Chapter & Friends Fishing Trip on September 15. I hope you had as much fun as I did! On behalf of the board, I would like to offer a special thanks to all our sponsors; we couldn’t have put on this event without you. Thank you for your generosity and continued support of our chapter.

SFV Women’s Auxiliary Auction Oct. 19

You don’t want to miss the laugh-out-loud Auxiliary Auction conducted by the SFV chapter to raise funds for scholarships through CLCA’s LEAF program. The event will be held at Szechuwan Garden, 18900 Ventura Blvd., Tarzana; (818) 881-8050. See page 3 for details.

Planning Session Nov. 17

Speaking of events, the board is gearing up for next year’s events, so we’re having a Board Meeting and Planning Session on Friday, November 17 starting at 11 a.m. The meeting will be held at SiteOne Landscape Supply, 914 Tourmaline Dr., Newbury Park, CA 91320; (805) 262-0400. Lunch will be provided.

We urge members to attend to give us feedback on the type of events and programs you would like to see the chapter put on next year. Anyone interested in getting more involved in the chapter – as a board member or committee member – is welcome to attend as well. Give a board member a call and let them know you will be attending. CLCA Convention Nov. 8-11 in Monterey

It’s almost here…the CLCA Convention set for the Hyatt Regency Hotel & Spa in Monterey Nov. 8-11. If you have never been to a CLCA Convention, this is your chance. Christmas Party and White Elephant Gift Exchange Dec. 2

We are closing out the CLCA year with our world-famous Christmas Party and White Elephant Gift Exchange on December 2 at the Tom Lucas residence in Somis. Special this year, we will be joined by the San Fernando Valley Chapter. The event will be a potluck. More details coming soon.
